Death Toll from Bali Bomb Explosions Increases to 27
Monday, 03 October, 2005 | 23:56 WIB

TEMPO Interactive, Denpasar, Bali:The death toll following the bomb explosions in Bali’s Jimbaran and Kuta on Saturday (01/10) has increased.

Based on data at the Sanglah General Hospital mortuary on Monday morning (03/10), there was one more dead body sent from Jimbaran.

With this additional body, the number of victims killed in the recent Bali bomb explosions is 27.

Most of the bodies have been collected by the families, particularly those of Indonesian citizens.

Only two identified dead bodies, one an Australian citizen and the other a Japanese citizen, are yet to be collected by their families.

Dr. Ida Bagus Putu Alit, who was on duty in the mortuary, said that the bodies were still there because the respective families are yet to arrive on Bali.

“We have to confirm the dead bodies with the families,” said Dr. Alit.
