Sunday, 02 October, 2005 | 18:11 WIB
TEMPO Interactive, Jakarta:The discussion on the extradition treaty between Indonesia and Singapore has been more practical than at the beginning .
“From a total of five meetings on the extradition treaty, the last two meetings have been more concrete,” said Indonesian foreign department spokesman Yuri Oktavian Thamrin to reporters in Jakarta on Friday (30/09).
During the last two meetings, Thamrin said, each of the Articles on the extradition treaty was discussed. Most of the Articles have been approved.
“However, there are some matters which still need to be settled,” said Thamrin. He refused to go into detail about what was causing the problem.
Thamrin said that both countries were committed to immediately come to an understanding about the extradition treaty. The next talk, that is the sixth talk, will be held in Indonesia in October 2005. (Fanny Febiana-Tempo News Room)
