Vice President to Visit South Africa

TEMPO Interactive, Jakarta:Indonesian Vice President Jusuf Kalla is to visit South Africa early next week ( September 26-29).
According to the Vice President’s Media Office and Press Bureau Chief Evac Mintaredja, this visit comes as a follow-up to the Asian-African Conference about a year ago in Indonesia. At that time, Indonesia and African countries were the leaders of the joint session.
This visit is aimed at establishing economic cooperation. Therefore, Indonesian Vice President Kalla also invited several business people to join the trip in addition to the Indonesian foreign minister and minister of religious affairs.
Regarding the expenditure of the group, Mintaredja said, ” As other official visits, the South African government will bear all the costs of official guests.”
