BRR Requested to Speed up Reconstruction of National Police Infrastructure
Wednesday, 21 September, 2005 | 23:58 WIB

TEMPO Interactive, Jakarta:National Police chief Gen. Sutanto has requested the Reconstruction and Rehabilitation Board (BRR) in Nanggroe Aceh Darussalam (NAD) to speed up the reconstruction process of police infrastructures in Aceh.

This is aimed at maximizing the work of National Police personnel.

“The request of the National Police has been approved by the chairman of the BRR Kuntoro Mangkusubroto,” said National Police headquarters (HQ) spokesman Insp. Gen. Ariyanto Budihardjo.

The police hope that police infrastructure in Aceh will be available for use within one year at the least.

Previously, the BRR had scheduled that all police infrastructure in Aceh would be constructed in stages over five years.

According to Budihardjo, the National Police chief has suggested the BRR select good contractors in carrying out the construction.

“This means that the BRR does not have to choose local contractors from Aceh because the number of the contractors in the province will be limited,” he added.
