President Leads Cabinet Meeting by Teleconference

TEMPO Interactive, Jakarta:Indonesian President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono once again led a cabinet meeting with his ministers from the USA by teleconference, starting at 10am Western Indonesian Time, 10pm New York Time, Monday (12/9).
When he opened the meeting, the President said that today’s meeting was on education and security, particularly as regards the peace process in Aceh and the development of law enforcement related to fuel smuggling cases in several regions.
“I want to hear progress updates, as well as all follow-up measures carried out by ministers,” said the President.
At the beginning of the meeting, the President requested a progress update from the Coordinating Minister for Political, Law and Security on development of security.
After that, the President requested a report from the Coordinating Minister for People’s Welfare on measures in preparing fuel increase compensation funds.
This was followed by reportd from the Indonesian Military (TNI) commander on security in Aceh and from the National Police chief on follow-up measures on enforcing the law. (Dimas Adityo-Tempo News Room)
