Thursday, 01 September, 2005 | 04:27 WIB
TEMPO Interactive, Banda Aceh:The preliminary observation team of the Aceh Monitoring Mission (AMM) is yet to decide when the weapons of the Free Aceh Movement (GAM) must be handed over.
As yet, the AMM has not formed the mobile decommissioning team, which is assigned to collect the weapons of GAM members on September 15.
According to AMM Deputy of Security, Jaakkoo Oksanen, this mobile decommissioning team will consist of four teams.
These teams will go to places that have already been agreed upon where there will be police to maintain security.
“They will visit these already agreed places, collect weapons, document everything and disassemble the weapons,” said Oksanen.
According to Oksanen, the AMM has discussed the methods of collecting removing the GAM weapons and the locations in the handing over of the weapons. “
We will decide this once we have carried some more checking,” stated Oksanen. (Yuswardi A. Suud-Tempo News Room)
