DPR: Increasing Dollar Value Due to Bad Economic Handling

TEMPO Interactive, Jakarta:Agung Laksono, Speaker of the House of Representatives (DPR), has said that the increasing value of the US dollar up to more than Rp10,000 was due to bad handling of the economic sector by the government and Bank Indonesia (BI).

“The government and BI must be more serious in handling economic problems as up to now the economic sector has not yet been properly taken care of,” stated Laksono in his office.

According to the DPR Speaker, the increasing value of the US dollar up to the Rp10,000 level will impact on other sectors in Indonesia.

The focus of this increase in the value of the dollar increase is more aimed at the function of BI as the central bank that must achieve the best policies in handling this matter.

“There must be harmonization between the government and the BI in terms of the economy rather than them each going their own way,” stated Laksono.
