Pertamina Cooperation Agreement To Be Reviewed

TEMPO Interactive, Jakarta:The case regarding the cooperation agreement with state oil & gas company Pertamina, which has received a letter to halt the investigation, is the first item on the agenda to be discussed by the Attorney General’s Office (AGO) expert team.

The expert team, called the reform team, was announced by AGO spokesperson Agung Soehandoyo on Wednesday (13/07).

The team’s task is to review and provide a second opinion regarding several cases at the AGO.

This team now has 13 members, consisting of academicians, legal practitioners and activists of non-governmental organizations (NGOs).

Not long after the announcement, the team, led by Harkristuti Harkrisnowo, held a meeting attended by Deputy Attorney General on Special Crime Hendarman Supandji.

“The Deputy Attorney General handed over the technical assistance contract (TAC) of Pertamina,” said Soehandoyo.

According to Attorney General Abdul Rahman Saleh, this team has not been established only for the Pertamina TAC case.

“We have also requested the review of other cases that require a second opinion,” said Abdul Rahman Saleh.

He added that this team was expected to provide second opinions as soon as possible.

“Hopefully, within this week or these two weeks,” said the Attorney General.

Team leader Harkrisnowo, also a lecturer at the University of Indonesia’s Law Faculty, declined to provide details regarding the TAC Pertamina and PT Ustrindo Petro Gas cases involving the chairman of the Regional Representatives Council (DPD) Ginandjar Kartasasmita.

“I and the other members of the team have signed a non-disclosure agreement regarding our work,” she said.

According to Harkrisnowo, in the future the team will be able to propose the cases to be handled.

She added that this team was actually established in January last year.
