Indonesian Navy to Hold Operation in Malacca Straits

TEMPO Interactive, Jakarta:The Indonesian Navy is to hold a special operation to combat robbery and piracy in the Malacca Straits.
Operation Gurita activities will be held for three months in the waters of the Malacca Straits, the Philips Straits and the Singapore Straits.
Indonesian Naval Rear Admiral Abdul Malik Yusuf said on Tuesday (12/07) that the operation will involve 22 warships, four planes, two helicopters and seven sea riders.
The troops involved will come from the Katak Military Unit, the Amphibian Spy Team, the Jaka Marine Detachment, the Joint-Intelligence Detachment and one marine battalion. (Agus Supriyanto-Tempo News Room)
