Government Prepares to Continue Forest Preservation Operation

TEMPO Interactive, Jakarta:Indonesian Minister of Forestry MS Kaban has said that government would continue the Forest Preservation Operation.

“In the future, we will conduct this operation in Kalimantan and 11 other provinces,” Kaban told Tempo on Thursday (07/07).

This continuation of the Forest Preservation Operation, Kaban said, would be carried out following the replacement of the National Police chief.

“We’re in the planning stage. We will carry this out following the replacement of the National Police chief,” stated the minister.

Kaban said that he was still reviewing in which areas illegal logging often took place. (Rini Kustiani-Tempo News Room)
