TEMPO Interactive, Jakarta:: The Indonesian government has promised to carry out the maximum efforts possible to solve the bombing in Tentena, Poso, Central Sulawesi.
According to Coordinating Minister for Law, Politics and Security Affairs Widodo AS, the government will not only look after the victims but will also find the perpetrators of the bombing, as well as also other terrorist networks and planned acts of terror.
“The government will carry out maximum efforts in finding the perpetrators of this act of terror, using both closed and open measures” stated Widodo at a press conference held in his office on Sunday (29/05).
According to Widodo, closed measures will include increasing the intensity of intelligence operations and opening terrorism networks, particularly in Poso and regions connected to terrorism networks.
The second measure, which tends to be open, includes increasing preparation of patrolling operations in securing important places.
“Technical measures shall be carried out by related officials from the State Intelligence Board (BIN) and National Police Intelligence, supported by Indonesian Military (TNI) in the field together with local governments,” said Widodo.
According to Widodo, the government also requests full support from members of the general public.
During the press conference, Widodo, representing the government, also conveyed his condolences to the families of the victims.
According to him, the bomb explosion in Tentena was an act of terror act and must be condemned as it claimed the lives of innocent civilians.
Widodo admitted that it is not an easy thing to solve acts of terror.
“However, we must carry this out despite the uncertainty we’re facing,” he said.
Security personnel, Widodo said, must carry out intelligence operations at any level.
They can not take risks by ignoring information received. (Agus Supriyanto-Tempo News Room)
