PRC Provides Further Loan to Indonesia Amounting to US$300 Million

TEMPO Interactive, Jakarta:The government of the People’s Republic of China (PRC) has provided another loan to Indonesia amounting to US$300 million.
This is to support the development of infrastructure and reconstruction in regions affected by the tsunami disaster.
Previously, the PRC government had given loans amounting to US$400 million.
“The government of the People’s Republic of China has decided to give a US$300 million loan to Indonesia,” said PRC President Hu Jintao during a joint press conference with Indonesian President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono at the State Palace in Jakarta on Monday (25/04).
President Hu said that the natural disaster in Nias has caused conditions in the area to worsen.
Therefore, the PRC government has decided to provide Indonesia with another US$1.5 million in cash and goods worth of US$500,000.
“We have delivered these goods in my special plane to Jakarta,” said Hu.
According to Hu, his government has also decided to provide grants amounting to 30 million Reminbi Yuan to the Indonesian government in order to show the friendship between both countries. (Dimas Adityo-Tempo News Room)
