Indonesian Police Deny Ba’asyir’s Verdict Related to Foreign Help

But he rejected that the United States’ and Australia’s disappointment over the verdict on Abu Bakar Ba’asyir was related to the aid.
“It’s got nothing to do with it,” he said yesterday in Jakarta.
Suyitno also said that the foreign aid came not only from Australia and America, but also came from other countries like Japan and the Netherlands.
As regards the accusation about a link between Ba’asyir’s verdict and the help, he said, “This sort accusation should be made through the courts.”
Previously, Indonesian Mujahidin Council spokeperson Fauzan al-Azhari said that the United States’ and the Australia’s disappointment about Ba’asyir’s verdict was related to budget distributed for the handling of terrorism and several other police activities.
