President Yudhoyono to Attend ASEAN Summit in Laos

TEMPO Interactive, Jakarta:The spokesman of the Indonesian Foreign Ministry, Marty Natalegawa, has announced that Indonesian President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono, Indonesian Foreign Minister Hassan Wirajuda and Indonesian Trade Minister Mari E Pangestu will attend the ASEAN Summit in Vientienne, Laos, between November 29 and 30 this year.

Indonesia will discuss the matters regarding Thailand, Myanmar and Aceh during the summit.

“We are in the process of familiarizing domestic problems or issues in respective ASEAN countries as well as ASEAN regional issues,” said Natalegawa during a press conference in Jakarta on Friday (05/11).

ASEAN member countries are scheduled to discuss 24 documents during the summit, and it is likely that 10 of these documents will be signed by each ASEAN country.

According to plan, five documents will be signed and five others will be adopted. (Evy Flamboyan Minanda-Tempo News Room)
