Police Will Soon Have Proof of Kuningan Bombers
Saturday, 25 September, 2004 | 01:32 WIB
TEMPO Interactive, Jakarta:The National Police have requested blood samples from family members of Kuningan bombing suspects G aka IG, IB and CH’s in West and East Java.
“We have requested the blood samples of their parents,” said Kuningan Bomb Investigation Team chairman, Comm. Gen. Suyitno Landung, during a press conference held at National Police headquarters on Friday (24/09).
The blood samples were taken on September 22, 2004 and the results will be available at least seven days later.
“We are yet to acknowledge whether or not the Kuningan bombing was a suicide bombing,” said Landung.
The police had earlier confirmed that DNA tests on bombing suspects Hasan and Jabir’s families in East Java did not match with the body pieces of a person who was alleged to be the suicide bomber in front of Australian Embassy in Jakarta on Thursday (09/09).
“Hasan and Jabir are definitely not the suicide bombers,” said Landung.
The police requested to take blood samples from G’s family as one suspect, IR aka A aka HG, testified that G once asked him to deliver a letter to his wife in Rengasdengklok.
In the letter, G said he was prepared to carry out a holy mission (jihad) and die for it. (Martha Warta – Tempo News Room)
