TEMPO Interactive, Jakarta:South Jakarta District Court judges sentenced Samuri Farich Mushoffa, 36, who is the suspect of a terrorism crime, to 3-years imprisonment on Thursday (08/07).
This is four years less than the sentence demanded by the public prosecutor.
The Court judges, led by judge R. Soedarjatno, said that the convicted was proven of having withheld information and facilitated terrorism crimes.
The judges also considered Samuri of having violated article 13 of Government Regulation in lieu of law number 1 of 2002 on terrorism crime eradication.
In his testimony, Samuri, who resided in Bandar Lampung, Lampung, said that he had conducted several meetings in Tawangmangu, Solo, Central Java and Ciawi, Bogor, West Java for the purpose of preaching.
However, judge Soedarjatno said the meeting participants also discussed how to assemble bombs as taught by Dr. Azahari.
“The meetings were held in different places without being acknowledged by the authorities,” said Soedarjatno.
Dr. Azahari, the alleged mastermind of JW Marriott Hotel and Bali bombings, is yet to be arrested.
