TNI Navy to Conduct Coordinated Patrol Activity in Malacca Strait

TEMPO Interactive, Jakarta:The Indonesian Navy is to conduct coordinated patrol activities in the Malacca Strait starting mid-July 2004.

TNI Navy chief, Adm. Bernard Kent Sondakh, made this statement on Thursday (08/07) in Jakarta.

Sondakh said that coordinated patrol activities would be carried out together with the Malaysian and Singaporean authorities along the Malacca Strait.

On Thursday (08/07), the three authorities, represented by each country’s navy operational assistant, were finishing the operation plan of the patrol activity.

“Today (08/07), they will meet in Cilangkap, East Jakarta, and discuss this matter. They will deliver the result to the Navy on Friday (09/07),” said Sondakh.
