National Police HQ Reconstructs Terrorism Cases

TEMPO Interactive, Jakarta:National Police headquarters (HQ) detectives and crime head, Comm. Gen. Suyitno Landung, said that the National Police HQ team held a reconstruction of a terrorism case in Sukoharjo, Central Java, on Tuesday morning (06/07).
The reconstruction was related to the cases of Bali bombing, JW Marriott Hotel bombing in Jakarta and identity fraud in West Nusa Tenggara.
Landung made this statement to Tempo News Room on Tuesday (06/07) at the National Police HQ, Jakarta.
According to Landung, the National Police HQ will develop an investigation and coordinate together with Bali Police as the suspects arrested in Sukoharjo are alleged to have been involved in the planning of the bombings and hidden the alleged masterminds of the bombings, Dr. Azahari and Noor Din Mohamad Top.
“We will send the suspects and evidence found to the Bali Police so that they can carry out an investigation into this matter and seek any relationship between this case and the hiding of Dr. Azahari and Noor Din Mohamad Top,” stated Landung.
As reported earlier, on June 30, 2004, the police arrested seven people in Sukoharjo, Central Java.
According to information provided by local people, these suspects are allegedly involved in terrorism cases.
At the time that they were arrested, the police also confiscated a number of weapons, ammunition and several documents.
Meanwhile, National Police headquarters (HQ)’s VI anti-terror bomb director, Brig. Gen. Pranowo Dahlan, said that the investigation into six terrorism suspects would be carried out at the Central Java Police office.
