TEMPO Interactive, Jakarta:Indonesian Military (TNI) Navy Chief, Adm. Bernard Kent Sondakh, is to discuss security in the Malacca Strait with Malaysian Navy Chief, Adm. Dato’ Sri Mohammad Anwar bin Haji Mohammad Nor.

The meeting, a follow up to previous talks on the Strait’s security, will be held on Tuesday (29/06) at the TNI Navy headquarters (HQ) in Cilangkap, Jakarta.

“Tomorrow’s meeting is aimed at intensifying security cooperation in the Malacca Strait,” Commodore Adiyaman Saputra told Tempo News Room by phone on Monday (28/06).

Saputra added that the Malaysian Navy chief arrived in Jakarta on Monday (28/06).

However, Saputra declined to reveal whether or not tomorrow’s meeting would be related to the plan of the Indonesian, Malaysian and Singaporean authorities to establish a special task force that would secure the Malacca Strait from terrorism threats.(Yandhrie Arvian - Tempo News Room)
