Indonesian Government to Send Acehnese Translator to Sweden

TEMPO Interactive, Jakarta:National Police chief Gen. Dai Bachtiar has said that he will send an Acehnese translator to Sweden with regard to several documents found in the residences of three Free Aceh Movement(GAM) leaders residing in Sweden, Hasan Tiro, Malik Mahmud and Zaini Abdullah.
“We will find an Acehnese translator as required by Swedish detectives and prosecutors. This way, all documents or information using Indonesian or Acehnese language will be able to be understood,” Bachtiar
told reporters following a Friday prayer session at the National Police headquarters (HQ), Jakarta, on Friday (18/06).
As reported earlier, Stockholm Prosecutors Office head, Thomas Lindstrand, said that he had found documents at the residence of Hasan Tiro and two other GAM top leaders during the raids of these houses on
Tuesday (15/06).
According to Lindstrand, he is experiencing difficulty in finding a translator who can help in translating these dossiers.(Martha Warta - Tempo News Room)
