Ba’asyir to Be Questioned on Wednesday

TEMPO Interactive, Jakarta:The National Police headquarters plans to question the supreme leader of the Indonesian Mujahidin Council (MMI), Abu Bakar Ba’asyir, on Wednesday (28/4).

Ba’asyir received the summons on Monday (26/4) at 8.25 p.m. Western Indonesian Time.

The summons was signed by High Comm. Esa Permadi and delivered by a police detective, Suyatno.

On Monday (26/4), the police failed to question Ba’asyir as the summons sent by the National Police headquarters was not in line with prevailing procedure.

According to Ba’asyir’s lawyers, the delivery of the summons was not based on the procedure as Ba’asyir received the summons on the scheduled day of questioning, rather than three days.

In addition, no one from the police investigation team into Ba’asyir delivered the summons in person. (Faisal - Tempo News Room)
