Yogyakarta Court Resumes Garuda Accident Hearing

TEMPO Interactive : Sleman District Court in Yogyakarta resumed on Monday the hearing of Garuda Indonesia accident case, indicting the airline's former pilot Marwoto. Three witnesses testified on Monday's hearing presented different testimonies compared to their initial testimony to the police. Lawyer for Marwoto, M assegaf said the court should have summoned other witnesses that understand the main responsibility of a pilot, while the two witness on Monday were only reporting their personal recounts on the accident. The three witnesses were Senior Commisioner Aide Zulza Sulaiman head of the Analysis section at the Yogyakarta Police, one passenger, and one resident near the Adisutjipto Airport where the accident killed 22 people in March 2007. The court will summon five more witnesses on September 22nd. Pito Agustin
