Government Agrees to Issue Letter of Guarantee

TEMPO Interactive, Jakarta: The government said it promised to issue a letter of guarantee as a pledge for national banking to finance infrastructure projects and strategic industries for developing primary defense system equipment.

Paskah Suzetta, the State Minister for National Development Planning, said that the guarantee was given since the government wanted national banking to be ready to disburse loans without violating the maximum lending limit.

“We will issue a letter of guarantee as a warranty should it be necessary,” said Paskah yesterday (01/31).

According to Paskah, the House of Representatives (DPR) must agree with the government because the government wants to optimize the use of Rupiah so state budget management can be more efficient.

The expected projects include strategic industry management of primary defense system equipment, infrastructure, health and education.
