TEMPO Interactive, Jakarta: The China Development Bank stated that it was interested in investing in Jakarta. “Especially in the Special Territory of Jakarta. We are most interested in infrastructure development,” said Head of Investigative Team at Indonesia Zhao Fanggiang to Tempo after meeting with Governor Sutiyoso at City Hall yesterday (01/15).
However, they are yet to discuss about the funds in detail. “This was only the first meeting,” Zhao said. According to him, the Governor offered some options that China can finance such as traffic infrastructure, garbage management, clean water installation and high-rise development.
Sutiyoso has especially focused on the development of high rises for the poor. “I don’t want people to live by the side of rivers or railway tracks, ” he said.
