Government Not Yet Issued Foreign Debts Management Strategy
Monday, 08 January, 2007 | 16:06 WIB

TEMPO Interactive, Jakarta: Up until today, the government has not yet issued documentation relating to foreign debts management strategy.

This strategy will be the reference for the decrease of Indonesian debts ratio until 2009.

“The documentation of debt management strategy is still at the Department of Finance,” said State Minister of National Development Planning Paskah Suzetta last week in Jakarta.

In the National Mid-Term Development Plan, the government's debt ratio target is 39.5 percent, consisting of foreign debts at 16.7 percent and domestic debts at 22.8 percent.

By the end of 2009, the government is targeting that the debt ratio will have reached 31.8 percent.

Lukita Dinarsyah Tuwo, Deputy State Minister for National Development Planning from the Development Financing Division, said that the utilization of foreign loans was still being discussed.

The reason for this is that there is not yet any complete strategy concerning the management of foreign loans.
