Consumer Index Continues Rising

TEMPO Interactive, Jakarta: The trend of strengthening the consumer’s index continues through October 2006. Generally, this index rose 1.7 percent to 88.9 percent.
According to the head of the Danareksa Economic Research Institute , Purbaya Yudhi Sadhewa, a part of the positive view on the current situation reflects consumer mood, near to Lebaran.
However, he said, although consumers feel more comfortable with the current economic condition, they are still worried about the economy’s prospect. The reason is, if seen from the income point of view, the underprivileged standard of living has actually has not experienced significant improvement.
