TEMPO Interactive, Tangerang: The Ciledug underpass project and the Jalan Sudirman flyover in Tangerang project will certainly be delayed.
Both the projects have been interrupted due to the tender pre-qualifying processes which require fund guarantees from Japan.
“We've urging that these projects be realized as soon as possible. The reason for this is that we've finished the land purchasing,” said Wahidin Halim, Tangerang Mayor, yesterday (13/6).
According to Wahidin, the city government has bought 78 plots of land for both projects.
Specifically, they have purchased 33 plots of land in the Ciledug District and 45 others in the Karang Tengah District.
According to the initial schedule, construction of both the projects was to start this month.
However, because of the prolonged pre-qualifying process, the projects will not begin before September this year at the very earliest.
Engkan Lengkana, Head of the Public Works regional office (DPU) at Tangerang, has stated that the land purchase would require Rp16 billion.
This will all be taken from the Tangerang City Budget.
The Japan International Bank Corporation will disburse a Rp120 billion loan for the projects’ physical construction.
About Rp60 billion of this loan will be spent for erecting a 650-meter length flyover at Jalan Sudirman.
The remainder of the loan will be utilized to build the Ciledug underpass.
Decky Priambodo, Section Head of Program Scheduling at DPU Tangerang, has said that the projects are intended to reduce traffic jams in Tangerang.
