Customs and Excise to Revise Import Duty Revenue
Thursday, 04 May, 2006 | 15:31 WIB
TEMPO Interactive, Jakarta: Director General of Customs and Excises at the Finance Department, Anwar Supriyadi is to revise the State's revenue from import duty components.
According to Anwar, there are possibilities that the revised revenues will be lower than the set target.
“There will be revisions because of factors involving the lowering of import duties and matters regarding intensity,” said Anwar.
Anwar said he will not raise excise rates.
“At the moment, rises will be carried out by intensifying excise duties so that companies' burdens are not heavy.”
Anwar is of the opinion that in the first quarter of this year the import duty target can not be met.
This is because of several government policies regarding duty on fertilizer and oil.
