TEMPO Interactive, Jakarta: According to Paskah Suzetta, State Minister for National Development Planning and concurrently Head of the National Development Planning Agency (Bappenas), Japan has reopened negotiations regarding the possibility of funding for the Mass Rapid Transit (MRT) project named Jakarta Metro System.
“It looks like Japan is willing to ease its offer from binding to non-binding. The Ambassador Deputy, Kuroki, has spoken,” said Paskah yesterday (25/4).
Paskah explained that as yet there was no certainty as when the next discussion will be is because the government is still looking for other funding opportunities from other parties, either multilateral or bilateral.
